Multiple residents from townships within the CGRC brought forward complaints at the public forum on April 10 regarding the lack of community consultation surrounding a series of proposed wast management schemes.
Particularly in Tumblong and Nangus, residents observed the proposed systematic changes would render a significant cost increase without providing adequate operational improvements.
Speaking with the Herald on Wednesday afternoon, council administrator Stephen Sykes said a number of village resident consultations sessions have been organised with the intent of weighing up options and collaborating with the individual needs of each township.
“These consultations will ensure that any changes that may be made will be cost effective and efficient,” Mr Sykes said.
“We want to operate on a service of need rather than convenience and to also avoid outside community illegal access to these services.”
The sessions began on Wednesday, April 12, in Tumblong with 21 attendees providing feedback and further sessions are scheduled for Nangus on April 20 at 6pm, and Muttama on April 26 at 6.30pm.
Dates for information sessions in the villages of Coolac, Stockinbingal and Wallendbeen are yet to be confirmed. The information obtained will be compiled and reported back to village residents in early May.
