It was all smiles as former Canberra Raiders five-eighth Terry Campese took up the coaching reins and put a thrilled group of attendees through their paces with a series of drills catering for all ages.
Bulldogs and Bullettes players and staff alike rubbed shoulders with fans and future players as the Test and Origin-capped Campese shared his training tips and skills developed over an extensive playing career.
“It’s all about the basic skills,” Campese said.
“Some of the drills we did today are ones we used to practice two or three times a day at NRL level.”
Campese spent the past two seasons playing for Hull KR in the English Super League but recently returned to fill the captain-coach role at his former junior club Queanbeyan Blues.
The mercurial playmaker has a busy schedule ahead of him as he looks to lead Italy in its upcoming Rugby League World Cup qualifiers.
