If residents thought they’d received all their December over two days on the weekend, they were swiftly proven wrong on Monday.

A mild storm headed south dropped more rain, making life a little tougher for farmers and keeping the cricket pitches damp.

With the creeks already full from the weekend, there was concern detours may have been needed for the Muttama Creek crossing on Hovell Street.

However there was more thunder than rain leaving drivers to only contend with few puddles.

Up to 9am on Monday, Cootamundra has received 76.5 millimetres of rain for December, according to readings at the airport.

That’s well over the long-term average for rainfall according to weatherzone.com.au.

Cootamundra’s average monthly rainfall is 52.4 millimetres and in December 2016, around 56 millimetres fell during the month.
