Pharmacist Phil Davies along with his son-in-law and pharmacist Hamish Knott are making the move which will see the business boast four-times its floor space. They're excited about the move.
"We've been looking forward to it for years," Mr Knott said.
"When the opportunity came up for the building, Phil jumped at it."
They said heard few negative reactions to the move with regular visitors welcoming the change.
"It's been mostly positive since a lot of people can see we've outgrown where we were," Mr Knott said.
Mr Davies has been one of the friendly faces behind the counter since 1983, but he said the history of the building at 214 Parker Street stretched back to 1888.
He said the shop had been a pharmacy for at least 100 years and in recent years the business has outgrown the space.
Mr Davies estimated 300 people walked through the doors each day. It's not just medicines, but advice, flu vaccinations and help with sleep apnoea.
"We'll have dedicated clinic rooms in the new shop," Mr Davies said.
While Mr Davies name is still on the side of the building, he said after 34 years he was looking to hand most of the work onto Mr Knott.
Mr Knott said the new shop meant more stock would able to be displayed, which would make it easier for customers but also mean staff are not continually getting something from the back of the shop.
With the pharmacy often as the first stop for people who aren't feeling well, it would mean more employees would be able to help customers.
"There's no appointment needed for flu vaccinations and we get the vaccine in March," Mr Knott said.
The new shop will also be compliant with NSW Health regulations for pharmacies.
He said the new shop’s official opening would be on December 14.
In years ahead Mr Davies expected big changes in future including the arrival of robotics which would change how the pharmacy worked.
