SES’ Cootamundra-Gundagai Controller Ross Tout said the calls came within 10 minutes from 3.10pm.
Cootamundra’s volunteers were boosted by the units from Junee, Gundagai, Temora, Harden and Wagga Wagga.
“Tumut was on standby but they weren’t required,” Mr Tout said.
Mr Tout said most of the calls for water entering homes, businesses and fallen trees plus a call to country club after solar panel was blown off the building.
“Calls for help were all over town, most of them were due to gutters not handling the amount of water,” he said.
“It highlights the need to ensure your gutters are regularly cleaned for storms and bushfires.”
Mr Tout said anyone needing assistance from the SES should call 13 25 00 which helped volunteers prioritise the calls they received.
