Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said the club would receive $15,000 for the paint job, which was part of a $1.7 million cash splash announced for the electorate.
The grandstand is one of 22 projects valued collectively at $300,00 across the electorate to receive funding from the Community Building Partnership fund for 2017.
“The grandstand is a beautiful heritage structure that presides over the town’s racecourse and this funding will go a long way to helping preserve it for years to come,” Ms Cooke said.
“I look forward to seeing the work in progress and, of course, seeing the final result after it receives this much-needed spruce-up,” she said.
Club vice-president Gary Arthur said the plan was to eventually create a new function space for the district.
Creating the function space includes the paintwork and then Mr Arthur said funding would be sought to buy and install a commercial kitchen.
