The winners of the town’s Australia Day Awards were announced.
During the Australia Day Cootamundra Connection provided some appropriately Australia music, while Sing Australia had people’s pride swelling as they sang I Am Australian.
Michael Baldry brought a touch of the bush to life reciting two Banjo Paterson poems, The Man From Snowy River and Mulga Bill's Bicycle.

And the swimming pool was the best place to keep cool during the day, however for some the Albert Park and Clarke Oval was the place to be for the Seven-A-Side cricket competition.
Meanwhile, out in Womat in Hilltops Shire, they were putting farm machinery to the test during the village’s annual tractor pull.
