Junee president, Hannah Kruger, welcomed all on behalf of her members.
Phillip Group CWA branch, a Sydney city branch were commended for the wonderful contribution they make to rural school students, through educational grants.
The money provided is an added bonus to their schooling expenses.
Tina spoke about the CWA structural review. The committee have been following on ideas branches have put to the committee, illustrating how modern technology is aiding discussion and decision making.
Internationally, Hume Group CWA have donated $10.117 in total with $6000 donated to the Fred Hollows foundation in Nepal. The remainder was distributed to Coins for Friendship, Clean Water for all and Women Walk the World.
Women Walk the World is on Sunday, March 29 and many branches have events planned for that day.
CWA State executive are looking for ideas and initiatives for CWA 100th celebration in 2022. Batlow branch are celebrating their 90th birthday on June 21 in their newly furnished facility.
The Yarrongobilly grant from CWA NSW this year was awarded to William Gain from Tumut to study medicine.
ACWW South Pacific President, Gail Commens spoke of the work she is achieving in raising funds for this area. $40,000 from State NSW has been forwarded to New Guinea towards rebuilding after the devastating earthquake.
Members were then introduced to Geoff and June Williams from Batlow, who are masters of Tai Chi Qigong. Geoff and June trained with the largest academy of tai chi outside of China, the Australian Academy of Tai Chi.
They spoke about the values of tai chi and the four main principles.
The members joined in the many movements and exercises and were then treated to a wonderful movement by Geoff and June, a very masterful and enthralling presentation.
Presentation of handicraft awards were presented by handicraft officer Patricia Herbert who thanked the judge Elizabeth Furner, for her time and expertise.
The champion piece was won by Barbara Wignall, Junee branch, a magnificent wool jacket.
The Hume Group trophy was presented to Bellarwi branch, accepted by Bev Norris.
Eurongilly branch won the State and Land award, and was accepted by Patricia Herbert.
The next Hume Group gathering will be in Junee on August 15.
