Reardon, who hails from Temora, became a national hero at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, when he won the 100 metre sprint title in a stunning performance.
He won the gold medal in the men’s 100m T42 in the record time of 12.26.
He followed this up at the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships in London by winning his third consecutive 100m T42 title with a time of 12.21.
Reardon is not only a world champion Paralympic leg amputee athlete as he first gained fame in a completely different sport – water skiing.
He was world champion in 2007 and 2009.
Last year he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his achievements in sport.
Reardon grew up on his family’s property at Temora, and is now based at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
The Sports Foundation is thrilled to have Scott as their guest at the dinner and look forward to hearing his story on becoming a world champion in two different sports and present awards to Cootamundra’s sporting stars of 2017.
