WITH the completion of round two Western Junior League, Cootamundra Cougars are sitting in second place in the under 16s. The girls have now played each team and look to be able to secure a top four position. The final round begins on Saturday, April 7 in Leeton.

ROUND ONE: Coota Cougars 46 to 41 against Orange Eagles who were a much bigger outfit with some slick offensive moves and impressive off the ball screens. Cougars 89 to 13 against Leeton Eagles. The girls’ only defeat has been against Bathurst who played a very aggressive and physical style of basketball to 50 to 47 in the final minute.
ROUND TWO: Cougars defeated Dubbo Rams 93 to 25 and defeated Griffith Demons 76 to 48. In the toughest game of round two, Cougars came away with a solid win over West Wyalong Wildcats 53 to 46. Cougars defeated Gilgandra Windmills 119 to 10.
