The next major garden club function is the autumn flower show on May 12 and over the years, chrysanthemums have been prominent in the show.
So this meeting, guest speaker and long-time chrysanthemum specialist grower, Gwen Livingstone, shared many strategies to ensure first class blooms in the garden and winning prizes on the bench.
Tour organiser, Chris Jones, is planning a trip to Griffith on October 14, to see some open gardens and the orange sculptures. Any interested travellers could contact Chris for more details.
Elizabeth Charleston’s gladioli was the flower of the month. The next meeting is May 20 at Dickson Hall at 2pm.
