There will be a sausage sizzle, and children will have the opportunity to hop on a fire truck and chat with firefighters to learn more about what they do every day.
There will also be some interactive activities, and children will be invited to carry out a search and rescue operation for a teddy bear in a specially built maze.
Open Day includes safety demonstrations, fire station tours and the chance to inspect equipment and trucks used by our firefighters when responding to all kinds of fire and rescue emergencies.
With the weather finally taking a turn for the chilly, it’s also a great time to also speak to firefighters first-hand about fire safety in the home.
Talk to Cootamundra’s friendly firies about how to install and maintain smoke alarms and how to develop a home escape plan to ensure your family can quickly escape in the event of a fire.
