THE Country Club bowls club fours championships have been finalised and the worthy winners for 2018 are Roger Williams, Adam Hutchinson, David Harris, and Ron Rosengreen.

This wining combination defeated Geoff Hagan, Keith Townley, Roy Cleveland, and Brad Lange 24-14.

Brad’s team was very competitive to the halfway mark, with scores level at 12-all on end 11, but could only win two shots in last half of that game.

Congratulations to Ron and co for a strong  team effort.

Whilst on championships, a couple more major pairs games to report, and firstly, D Harris and D Manwaring were hard pressed in achieving their win over B Lange and R Rosengreen.

The final score was 21-18.

The contest between JO`Loughlin and C Willis and Tony Ward and Eddie Jarrott provided a different result for John and Charlie to their first game big win,as this time it was a comfortable win for Tony and Eddie 31-10.

TUESDAY saw 16 players turn up for a game, and they were teamed in pairs games.

I am intrigued by the first score card that I report because that card,  belonging to G Hagan and K Townley, showed a score of seven shots on two ends that undoubtedly contributed to their win over G Cassidy and E Jarrott (31-20) resulting in a 17.5 points for them.

The worthy winners for 2018 are Roger Williams, Adam Hutchinson, David Harris, and Ron Rosengreen. Congratulations to Ron and co for a strong team effort.

Next we find our "roamer" N Stubbs and R Smith had a comfortable win over R Williams and R Johnson 28- 13 for 18 points.

Then 19 points was the result for K Medcalf and A Ward`s win (24-19) over K Black and R Cleveland.

Chook winners for the day were B Stephens and J Cooper with a 33-12 score, realising 20.5 points against G Botrall and D Guthrie.

Ron Johnson won the raffle.
