‘Local Unlimited’ is the event focused on developing creative ways to market and brand products to reach consumers and others.
Mrs Hansen who works from a deer farm at Mandagery Creek near Orange, was named Rural Woman of the Year in 2016.
Mrs Hansen developed My Open Kitchen which is an online learning course designed to help rural producers reach their markets.
She will be the guest speaker on Friday before running a workshop which will help producers find their customers on Saturday.
“I really believe with social media and the online world anybody can create a workplace where they are,” Mrs Hansen said.
“The workshop is for local producers and creators to give them skills in how to take a good photo, edit it, share it in a way that will be engaging,” she said.
Mrs Hansen said rural producers all had a unique story, but the challenge was in finding ways to share that with people.
“It’s not just about selling the product to consumers, but, if you’re a producer, to chefs who might be looking for an idea, or media looking for a story,” she said.
She said one of the best ways to do that was in learning to compose, take, edit and share quality photos.
“’Local Unlimited’ is an event focusing on creative enterprise for economic growth,” Isabel Scott from the Arts Centre said.
“It is about recognising who we really are and what it is that identifies us.
“This event offers taste testing of local products combined with creative activity. It is about being proud of our local products seeking innovative ways to market ourselves.
“It's a positive drive for future growth."
As well as hearing from Sophie Hansen and her mum Annie Herron, Mrs Scott said there was glass work with Peter Minson, wool dyeing with Merrlyn Pickford and ceramics with Lyn Cameron.
There’s also print marking with Annabel Marley and heritage lathe work with Leigh Scott. Contact the Arts Centre on 6942 4773.
