The market consisted of 2036 lambs, 1354 ewes, 97 hoggets, 151 wethers, 53 rams and 11 old sheep.

With light raining falling during the sale, the trade lamb quality was similar to the last sale, with all agents having four or five lead pens, that attracted strong interest from the large field of regular buyers on the rail, with the market picking up last sale losses to be $5 to $7 better.

There was a little bit more interest in the fresher late spring lambs from the feedlots and restockers who paid up to $135.00 for these types.

Top price pen of the day for lambs went to Lindsay and Leanne Rickett, Sunshine, Brawlin, with a high-quality pen of XB lambs making $158.

With a skin value of $6 and estimated CW of 25kg, they came back at $6kg CW and were snapped up by Woolworths on a knock call.

As per last sale, the mutton job was still buoyant, with cast for age ewes making $170.20.

Bare shorn and sent in by Jack Cameron, Galvins, Dirnarseer, they came back at $4.50kg CW, and went to Wagstaffs, with at least two other processors in the bidding duel.

The mutton market was generally firm on the previous sale.

Most 3 to 4 score trade lambs were in the $5.90 to $6.40 / KG CW range, with mutton selling extremely well to be in the $4.50 to $5.00/KG CW range.
