Last Saturday afternoon may have been bleak outside but in the warm confines of the Cootamundra Sacred Heart Church a musical recital to “beat all musical recitals” was taking place.

Stunning soprano Greta Bradman, one of Australia’s most celebrated operatic and concert artists and the granddaughter of the late Sir Donald Bradman, was performing to a captivated audience.
People had travelled from far and wide to be entertained by this outstanding, phenomenal artist.
Accompanying Greta on the grand piano (yes, her entourage moved their grand piano into the front area of the church – just below the alter) was outstanding pianist Kate Johnson, who has performed at the Opera House, London and regularly on ABC Classic-FM.
Greta delights in staging her performances in a church rather than a hall.
Her rendition of Ave Maria left the audience spellbound. Also enjoyed was Pie Jesu (Requiem) by Andrew Lloyd Webber, exerts from Puccini, Handel and so the list goes on.
She finished the afternoon off with one of her “favourites” that her granddad the late Sir Don Bradman composed Every Day is a Rainbow Day.
The afternoon finished with parish priest Father Joshi thanking the artists with a very moving speech, and presenting the girls with beautiful bouquets of flowers (interesting to note Greta’s had Cootamundra wattle in it.)
