Heading out to do a bit of squid fishing turned into whale watching session.
“Wow,” was how he described it in his Facebook post.
Known universally as Johnno, the former tough as teak Shoalhaven Rugby breakaway, was at The Tubes on the inside of Point Perpendicular, when the whales started their spectacular show.
“It went on for about 20 minutes,” he said.
“It was incredible. They were breaching, lots of fin slapping as well. You could clearly see them swimming on their sides slapping the water.
“It certainly made the fishing trip pretty special and for some great video footage.”
