They met R. Miller and B. Butz from the Southern Highlands and performed quite well, but their opposition came away with a 24-20 win.
Jim White and Roman Bondaruk also attended the Zone 8 senior pairs playoff, where they played I. Black and B. Russell.
They came away with a 22-19 win to move to the final.
In the final, they played the very strong Wagga Rules side of D. Rawlings and W. Pearson.
They were again performing quite well, before Bondaruk was overcome by illness.
With Bondaruk unable to continue, they conceded to the Wagga side.
Bondaruk hopes to recover in time for the triples next Sunday.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
Nigel Buttriss and Peter Hoang played for the right to meet John Goggin in the Major Singles final.
Hoang got off to great start, shooting to a 21-10 lead at the conclusion of 19 ends.
However, Buttriss mounted a challenge over the next nine ends to have the score at 25-21.
But the run came to an end, with Hoang scoring six shots in the next five ends to secure a place in the final with a 31-22 win.
Jason Jones and Alan Small progressed to final of minor pairs with an outstanding display of bowls.
They won the semi-final against Bill Cosgrove and Roger Goode, 27-7.
Jones peppered the jack all game, setting up the win.
Social bowls
In Wednesday’s action, Rocky, T. Cosgrove and the Duck were too strong for S. Leggett, Ginger and J. White, winning 23-15.
R. Hillier, J. Huntington and T. Curtis played some great bowls to record a 24-7 win over J. Jones, M. Andrews and A. Small.
On Friday, three games of pairs and a game of triples were played.
S. Stanton and Pickles demolished R. Hillier and Grumpy 27-10. T. Curtis and visitor G. Ryan outplayed O. Lopez and T. McDonald, winning 22-16.
G. Snape and the Duck performed very well, winning 21-14 against Ginger and J. White.
In the triples game, S. Fisher, S. Leggett and B. New were never in the race, eventually going down 28-13 to B. Winter, J. Huntington and G. Hillier.
On Sunday, 22 players took to the green with one pairs game and three triples games.
In the pairs game, J. Jones and J. Cook accounted for R. Hillier and Froggy 18-12. O. Lopez, K. Hampton and P. Cockram were the victors with a 26-20 win.
B. Visser, T. Curtis and Grumpy were 21-11 winners against M. Smith, M. Andrews and T. Smith.
N. Blackett, Bloopy and B. New were 26-10 winners over S. Stanton, G. Snape and J. Deacon.
