The Country Clusters sets teams from Groups Nine, 10, 11 and 20 against each other.
Cootamundra’s boys joined Group Nine’s northern pool teams.
Group Nine’s under 12s coach Luke Dabin said the team played four games over the two days.
“A lot of the Cootamundra players did really well,” Dabin said.
“They played well and represented Cootamundra well.”
Dabin said the under 12s team, which had players from Temora, Junee, Young, Harden and Turvey Park and the Wagga Magpies, were really good because they were willing to listen and learn.
The under 12s side swept through their games undefeated during the weekend. They beat Group 20 (34-8), Group 10 (20-10), Group 11 (6-4) and Group Nine’s southern pool side (20-10).
Both Lachlan and Darcey crossed the line and scored tries but Dabin said it was the entire team’s effort which was impressive.
“It was a bit of everything, they defended really well and worked well in attack,” he said.
“The Coota boys did their part and excelled as we’d like to, but the entire team did very well.
“They’re a really good team and were willing to learn to enhance their rugby league skills.”
Dabin said Sasha Louttit played well for the under 12s league tag side, scoring plenty of tries – including four in one game.
The under 12s and league tag players have finished their representative duties, however the under 13s will play on.
“The under 13s will play a game in Woolongong this weekend,” Dabin said.
This weekend will the final home game for the Junior Bulldogs at Nicholson Park before the semi-finals.
