Cootamundra’s junior Bulldogs competed in several age groups including the under 6/7s, under 8s and under 11s.
Mercifully, unlike most years when the weather oscillates between cold, damp and wet, the sun was shining and the skies were clear, making the day far more enjoyable for parents and spectators.
The annual knockout, running for around seven decades still attracts thousands of players, spectators and parents to the fields around Laurie Daley Oval for a day.
Playing in the tournament is part and parcel of rugby league for many Group Nine and NRL players past and present.
The event attracts clubs from around the Riverina, and the Canberra region, to compete for the glory of winning one of the pennant flags for their age groups.
