The market consisted of 1500 lambs, 1000 mutton and 550 new season lambs.

With NSW 100 per cent drought declared this week the majority of the yarding is showing the tough winter that they have endured.

Each agent had only four or five lead pens, with these stock being well rewarded.

Not all regular buyers were present and they operated in a market that was fully firm for the top quality lambs with the lighter lambs generally $5 to $10 cheaper although this was definitely quality related.

Very limited restocker interest although there were a few lines of very light new season lambs returned to the paddock.

Top price of the day went to Heath Kirk of Kingsvale who had an outstanding run of XB lambs, making $225.20. With an estimated carcase weight of 28kg and wearing an $8 coat they came back at $7.75kg CW and went to Fletchers International after spirited bidding.

A few good pens of new season lambs topped out at $200 and were supplied by Hardie Pastoral. With an estimated KW of 25.5kg and carrying a $7 coat they came back at $ 7.60kg CW

The mutton job continues to come off the pace as does the quality.

Top mutton price was a pen of XB Hoggets making $140 and cast for age XB Ewes up to $135. The Mutton market was $ 10 to $15 of the pace on the previous sale.

Most three to four score trade lambs were in the $7.50 to $ 8kg CW range with good quality lighter lambs up to $8.20kg CW. Mutton prices ranged from $4 to $4.50kg CW range to average $4.10kg CW.
