Bev Black and Greg Fisher accounted for Freda Hambrook and Jason Jones in the first round of the mixed pairs.
Bev and Greg lined up again on Saturday to play Lynn Fisher and Steve Stanton in a very close game of bowls.
The score was level on three occasions and coming into the 21st end there was only one shot the difference 19-18 in Lynn and Steve’s favour, but Bev and Greg recorded a four to take the win and now wait at the semi-final stage for their opponents.
SOCIAL BOWLS
Wednesday: J Jones, T Cosgrove and G Hillier accounted for K Hampton, G Bushell and J Huntington 26-13, while an extra end had to be played to separate P Cockram, G Snape and The Duck with their opposition being O Lopez, A Small and P Hoang after they were 21-all at the end of 21 ends.
P Cockram, G Snape and The Duck recorded two shots to take home the meat tray.
Friday: saw 16 bowlers take to the green with G Bushell and Pickles opposing Spider and P O’Brien in a game of pairs.
The scores were level on five occasions with Spider and Pat in the end claiming a 20-18 win.
J Jones, S Stanton and G Hillier combined to account for B Webb, G Snape and T McDonald 24-13.
M Andrews, P Cockram and Bloopy were too strong for R Goode, K Hampton and A Small winning 29-18.

Social days for men are Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1pm, and ladies play Wednesday and Saturday at 10.30am.
