The Blues booted their highest score of the season to win 79 points – 17-14-116 to 5-7-37. The Blues were always in front. They led by 27 points at the first change.
They increased their lead to 41 points at the long break and by the last change the Blues had the match wrapped up, leading by 54 points.
In the final quarter, the Blues booted 6-3 to 2-3 to record a comfortable win.
After suffering three consecutive losses to the three top sides, the win was a great tonic for the Blues as they are keen to finish the season off well.
Before the men’s match, players and supporters observed a minutes silence for the passing of Hugh Roberts who was a member of the Coota side that played in the first game in 1960.
The players also wore black armbands.
Saturday’s match also saw Blues skipper Phil Bird celebrate his 100th match. As always, he was inspirational and was one of the Blues’ best.
Such is his durability and toughness; Bird has now played 82 consecutive matches for the Blues.
The skipper has played every match the Blues have played since 2014.
The Blues had nine goal kickers with Jimmy Finucane and Luke Webb both kicking four goals.

The girls unfortunately suffered another loss going down to Queanbeyan by 38 points - 10-11-71 to 5-3-33
