Cootamundra Public School librarian and teacher Gael Millar said the event helped encourage children to read.
“The pupils all dressed up with great enthusiasm and within their classes they got to study a new book.,” she said.
“There were many pirate costumes on the day because the theme was ‘Find your Treasure’.”
Ms Millar said the best part was the wide participation.
“Cootamundra Public School is the organiser but we have our high school and special school, Catholic School, other public school and all the preschools in the same parade.” she said.
