The winners had to back up again on Sunday morning for the quarter finals and the semi-finals played on Sunday afternoon.
Quarter Final
The quarter final saw W. Ford, P. Cockram and G. Snape play on rink three with their opponents N. Buttriss, P. O’Brien and M. Willis.
Team Snape was a bit too good on the day winning 23-12.
Rink four had a very close game where H. Wilson, G. Bushell and J. Deacon just defeated K. Roberts, R. Anderson and J. Goggin 22-21.
On rink five R. Bradley, T. Smith and P. Colvin were too good for B. New, J. Cook and A. New winning 28-15, while on rink six J. Jones, G. Manwaring and J. White combined well to stop the run of G. Field, P. Hoang and J. Harriott with a convincing win.
Semi-Finals
Both semi-final games were outstanding and close.
On rink four Jason Jones, Geoff Manwaring and Jim White went toe to toe with Rod Bradley, Terry Smith and Peter Colvin.
The scores were level on three occasions 7-all, 13-all and 15-all, then on end 18 the score was 18-16 in team White’s favour.
Unfortunately team Colvin was kept scoreless from that point with some great draw bowling by team White securing a final spot with a 25-16 win.
In the remaining semi, Paul Cockram, Wayne Ford and Graeme Snape were shot for shot with their opposition Henry Wilson, Graham Bushell and Jim Deacon till end 14 were the score was 9-8 in team Deacon’s favour.
Team Snape recorded 10 shots in the next four ends going out to a handy 18-9 lead, but gave six shots the next end shrinking their lead to two, 18-16 with one end to play.
Team Snape went on to claim the remaining place in the final with a 19-16 win.
