I am pleased to announce that the honours go to Adam Hutchinson and Pat Francis who defeated Betty and Roy Cleveland on Tuesday afternoon with a 24-11 final score.
Betty and Roy won the first two ends but the wheel fell off after that and it is quite an achievement by Adam and Pat who, along the way, met notable pairs of bowlers and came out in front.
Congratulations to both of you.
This year our committee decided to run an extra club event in the form of a major and minor pairs and the finals will be played out this weekend and a couple of cards are missing for games on the first day.
Sunday saw A Hutchinson and G Worboys defeat A Ward and D Harris (29-10); K Medcalf and R Smith defeated W Ledger and R Cleveland (23-12); G Hagan and M Barber defeated C Willis and J Malone ( 25- 9); A.E Ward and B Lange defeated S. Wilkinson and D Manwaring (28- 8).
Tuesday saw another good roll-up with the help of the visitors and provided some interesting results.
The lowest scoring card belonged to C Peters and B. Lange, who defeated W Watmore and D Harris, for 16.5 points.
Then came N Stubbs and B Gibson, with 18.5 points from their game against R Roycroft and E Thorburn; K. Medcalf and R. Johnson earned 19. 5 points by defeating C Miller and J Cooper (24- 17).
Then came the triples game of G Bottral, K Hampton and J Malone with a massive (43- 15) score for 21 points against G Hagan, K Black and C Willis which you could expect to win most days but not so this time because K ”Scobie” Breasley and the “old bloke” Arthur turned up 22.5 points by defeating R Walsh and G Davidson (40-12)
What a great game bowls can be with so much drama on one day!
The raffle tray went to G Davidson.

Cootamundra Ex-Services Club Women
During the month of August, we had a good roll-up for social bowls.
A steady number of lady bowlers played bowls Wednesday and Saturday.
It’s good to see how persistent we are in all kinds of weather.
In August we hosted a triples medley on the 15th.
In September a major singles was played between Joan Cummins and Marilyn Allan, with Joan the winner on the day.
A minor singles was played on September 12 between Debra Kelleher and Colleen Goode, with Colleen winning a very close game.
We welcomed Caroline Buchanan back after a shoulder reconstruction.
