The market consisted of 1962 New Season Lambs, 613 Old Lambs and 1996 mutton sheep.
As per last sale there was increase of store stock, and new season lambs showing signs of dryness.
With at least three regular buyers absent and some only operating occasionally the market was $20 to $30 cheaper for lambs with the mutton market up to $50 of the highs of a fortnight ago.
These prices are very much in-line with other regional saleyards over the last week.
Once again there was a bit of re stocker interest on light lambs, and with steady rain falling during the sale, this gave them some confidence.
Top price of the day went to John Hollihan, “Avondale”, Wallendbeen with an outstanding pen of new season lambs making $176.
With an estimated CW of 26kg and wearing a $7 coat, they came back at $6.50kg CW and went to Southern Meats, Goulburn.
Most three to four score lambs were in the $6.50 to $7kg CW.
Top price for mutton was a pen of heavy bare shorn Merino Ewes making $136. With an estimated CW of 33kg and a small $2 coat they came back at $3.95kg CW.
Hoggets topped out at $106 to average $97.
Most mutton ranged from $350 to $4kg CW.
