Great weather has helped Cootamundra’s Can Assist run a highly successful biannual garage sale on Saturday.
Can Assist president Beverly Withers said volunteers had spent a week filling Scouts Hall with donated goods.
“It was a beautiful day, weather wise, it was like a great big picnic both inside and outside,” she said.
“Everywhere you looked there were really happy people, we had a barbecue there and people could buy a raffle as well as some goodies.
“We raised about $6000, which is amazing,” she said.
The money will go towards Can Assist’s support for cancer patients in the region.
Mrs Withers said any unsold goods had been donated to the Red Cross and only a small amount had to be taken to the tip.
Cootamundra’s Can Assist raised $84,000 last year to help cancer patients with costs associated with treatment.
