Cootamundra Show Society secretary Heather Bush said there was a big event coming up for next Saturday with fireworks and roving entertainment.
“We’ve got racing lawnmowers this year for the first time,” she said.
“They’re really taking off around NSW; there’s a fair few different clubs and we have been lucky enough to secure some.
“They’ll be putting on displays and they’ll be in the main arena just before the night show. There’s be lots of noise and they sound like they’ll be pretty good fun.”
The show will also feature the Hawksbury Working Kelpie Stud’s puppies as well ass its full-grown dogs.
“They’ll be showing how working dogs are trained, right from the puppy stage,” Mrs Bush said.
“They’’ll be lots of puppies available to pat around the grounds because we also have the got the animal nursery very nearby.
“We have got a new free family fun area – we haven’t done that before – with free facepainting and chairs for families to relax and have lunch in the shade close the the children’s section.”
Mrs Bush said entries for the agricultural judging sections were holding up despite the drought.
“For the first time, we have moved the junior pavilion section to the Ned Steiger Pavilion because we have had so many entries,” she said.

The Show will run from 9am to 9pm at the showgrounds at the corner of Pinkerton Road and Bethong Street with admission $10 for adults $5 concession with no charge for pre-schoolers.
