Service NSW is a one-stop shop for vital services such as getting a birth certificate, Seniors Card, renewing vehicle registration and getting a driver licence.

Local residents have expressed concern at the loss of the Motor Registry. 

“We hope the closure of the Motor Registry doesn’t mean a loss of some services from Cootamundra,” said Les Cooper.

“Keeping services like drivers licence testing here saves the inconvenience of young people and their parents having to drive half an hour to Young or an hour to Wagga for such services.”

The new centre is part of Service NSW’s $20 million expansion of the network into rural and regional areas and when open, will provide access to more than 1000 government transactions.

“This means thousands of residents living in these locations will be able to access over-the-counter transactions not previously available,” said a Service NSW spokesperson. 

“The final stages of the building and technical fit out are under way.”

Service NSW opens next week, next to Intereach and Mission Australia on Cooper Street.

A launch event will be held on Tuesday, November 13 from midday and they will open for business 9am 14 November 2018.

Council staff, Councillors, business owners and members of the community are all invited to attend the launch.
