The market consisted of 1389 new season lambs, 650 old lambs and 3791 mutton sheep.
The quality of the market overall, was not as good as the previous sale, with only a few lead pens of lambs and mutton, and larger runs of store lambs and lighter mutton.
With a number of major processors not operating, the market was quoted by agents to be $10 down for lambs with the mutton market, at times erratic, although slightly cheaper on the heavier mutton.
Medium weight mutton was keenly sought after by the processors and was quoted to be fully firm by the agents.
There was limited re-stocker activity with only a few pens heading to Lucerne in the Central West.
Top price of the day went to Ron Ward “Bellevue” Jindalee with an outstanding pen of new season lambs making $173.
With an estimated CW of 25.5kg and wearing a $7 coat, they came back at $6.55kg CW and went to Southern Meats Goulburn.
Most three to four score lambs were in the $6 to $6.60kg CW
Top price for mutton was a pen of heavy ewes making $136. With an estimated CW of 28kg and a $10 coat they came back at $4kg CW.
Most mutton was in the $4 to $4.50kg CW. A large run of hoggets topped out at $142 to average $84. This market continues to be strong.
Most mutton ranged from $3.50 to $4.20kg CW.
