The Motor Registry at Cootamundra was scheduled to transition to a Service NSW Centre this week, with an official launch on Wednesday.
A Service NSW spokesperson said the centre “will give residents and businesses access to the same range of services available at Young and Wagga Wagga, including driver testing”.
“Service NSW is a one stop shop for more than 1000 government transactions from around 40 agencies including Roads and Maritime Services, Births, Deaths and Marriages and Fair Trading.”
Residents had expressed concern at the possibility of losing services due to the Motor Registry’s transition.
“Keeping services like drivers licence testing here saves the inconvenience of young people and their parents having to drive half an hour to Young or an hour to Wagga for such services,” Les Cooper said.
