On a day dominated by Canberra trainers, Bank Of Erin ($3.20) enjoyed a strong win in the $30,000 Tumblong Hills Class Three Showcase Handicap (1180m).
Canberra trainer Luke Pepper was pleased to see the troublesome mare put it all together.
"She's let herself down more than anything," Pepper explained.
"She's a troublesome horse to train. The ability's always been there, it's just her brain that has let her down, if anything.
"She's getting better and today was the best I've seen her."
Bank Of Erin sat deep but proved too strong for Tumut sprinter Cattledog Cod ($20.00), who ran a cheeky race first-up from a spell to finish second.
Mint On Moseley ($7.50) was third.
It was the second leg of a winning treble for jockey Simon Miller, who also scored on Mookareena ($6.00) and Vivendi ($3.40).
