COUNTRY CLUB
ANOTHER year is fast drawing to a close, and thus we look forward to acknowledging our 2018 champions at the Presentation Dinner this Saturday evening.
It is a dual event this year – ladies also making their presentations to their winners and we look forward to good membership support for what should be a great night for our club’s bowlers.
D Harris and R Cleveland had the winning margin of five last Friday when they defeated R Crowe and D O`Brien (27-22) and thus just edged out G Worboys and P Rasmussen who had a three shot win over J Malone and C Willis and likewise the one shot victory of K Black, G Hagan and K Breasley over R Ledger, K Medcalf, and R Johnson. Jackpot still intact!
Tuesday saw four games of pairs and plenty of drama as those games unfolded, all with high scores for winning pair. The lowest for the day was 19.5 points for the win by W Ledger and J Cooper over G Hagan and P Cockran (25-15).
Then G Bottrall and J Malone had a 20-point score for their win over C Peters and E Thorburn (30-18). And also 20 points was earned by B Gibson and G Davidson as a result of their win over C Miller and J White (28-11).
Despite all those worthy wins t he honours for the day went to K Medcalf and B Lange who had the answer for almost every thing they had thrown at them by A Ward and R Smith and took the meat trays with a 21 point score and (32-10) win. The raffle tray went C Peters.
