On Thursday, Cootamundra Meals on Wheels held a combined Christmas luncheon for volunteers and service recipients at Dickson Hall.
A wonderful afternoon was enjoyed with local schools playing a part.
Cootamundra Public performed songs from their Lion King production as well as Christmas carols to entertain those gathered and Sacred Heart Central School provided catering and serving.
Andrea Kurta, regional development officer Riverina Murray – Aging, was an insightful guest speaker.
Meals on Wheels currently has more than 300 volunteers with more always welcome.
Six volunteers are needed per day with the service operating seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Dedicated volunteers even deliver on Christmas Day with no roster created for this day but a plethora or volunteers always happy to put up their hand.
