The inaugural T20 match between Crusaders and Coyotes at Albert Park, saw Corby top score in the match with 23. He then captured 3-12 from his four overs and took a catch. Through Corby’s classy effort, Crusaders defeated Coyotes by 36 runs.
Winning the toss and batting, Crusaders made 7-117 from 20 overs and bowled out Coyotes in the 17th over for 81.
While Corby starred, he a had couple of mates; Ryan Connell made a brisk 21 while in the field, Crusaders took eight catches with wicket keeper James Smith leading the way taking four catches.
Smith’s best catch was when caught Kris Scelly. The Coyotes batsman snicked the ball off Corby’s bowling over Smith’s head, who ran a good 20 metres then dived to take a great catch.
The Coyotes innings, saw Kris Scelly top score with 17, while Ben Murray made 12.
STOCKINGBINGAL are the new leaders in the Dunk Insurance Cup following their win over the Bowling Club Tigers at Stockinbingal.
Their win, and the Criterion Gunners first loss of the season to the Renegades, has seen the village side move to the top of the ladder.
Batting first, Stockinbingal made 4-127, Tigers replied with 9-94.
The star for Stockinbingal was Jack Caldwell who made 52, while Doug Hunt and Shayne Fisher both made 25.
In the Tigers’ innings, Will Oliver who opened top scored with 26.
Jack Caldwell capped off a fine match by capturing 4-8.
Meanwhile, Cootamundra Ex-Services Magpies has suffered another defeat going down to the Burrangong Cricket Club at Cranfield Oval.
The home side batted first and made the very competitive score of 8-162 with Drew Morris scoring 64 and Troy Newham 56. The Magpies replied with 8-112. Luke Ismay scored 56 while captain Mal Sutherland made 24.
