Mr Stadtmiller, the former deputy mayor of Harden, stood for the Shooters Fishers and Farmers in the 2017 Cootamundra byelection.

That election, triggered by the resignation of Katrina Hodgkinson, was won by The Nationals’ Steph Cooke.

Mr Stadtmiller, a 34-year-old businessman, on Friday formally announced he would be running in the general state election in March, with Seb McDonagh announcing he would stand for the Shooters in the neighbouring seat of Wagga.

In announcing his second tilt at the seat, Mr Stadtmiller spoke about the issues he believed would resonate with voters.

He talked about plans to knock down stadiums in Sydney while there was “not enough money spent in the bush”, forced council mergers, infrastructure being stripped away from hospitals, school funding levels and state of rural roads and bridges.

“We’ve got five bridges in the Hilltops Shire that are looking like they are going to have to be closed or some sort of bypass put in because they are unsafe,” Mr Stadtmiller said.

"SFF could well hold the balance of power in both houses of parliament after the next election. We'll have the power to get things done". 

“Country people are fed up with paying taxes and seeing all their money spent in Sydney”.

Harden pharmacist Mark Douglass is standing for Labor in Cootamundra.
