Rodney Ball, who ran the raffles last year helped by Peter Wright and Albion publican Allan Mitchell, presented the cheque to Mrs Withers last Friday.
“We thank the community for their contributions which come in many forms, including donations from the saleyards which have been going for 30 years, and from funerals providing funds in lieu of flowers,” Mrs Withers said.
“We use the money to help cancer sufferers with treatment costs such pharmacy, travel and accommodation and covering Medicare gaps.
“The idea is so they can concentrate on getting better rather than worrying about where the next dollar will come from.”
