The federal government has contributed more than $900,000 for improvements in aged care for residents in Junee, Coolamon, and Temora.

Riverina MP Michael McCormack announced the funding on Thursday at Junee’s Cooinda Court which received $300,000 towards refurbishing resident bathrooms and bedrooms and upgrade lighting to be more energy efficient.
Allawah Lodge in Coolamon was granted $497,135 towards upgrading its kitchen and laundry facilities as well as installing a fence and refurbishing its courtyard and sunroom.
The Whiddon Group’s Temora Aged Care Facility has received $111,699 towards a solar system and battery storage installation.
Mr McCormack said was fantastic news for Junee, Coolamon, Temora given the increasing demands on the aged care sector.
The funds were from the $40 million Aged Care Regional, Rural and Remote Infrastructure Grants scheme in the 2018-19 Budget as part of a broader $5 billion commitment to aged care.
