OPEN fours semi-final saw Young team of D Miller, J Melony, T Shapcott and D Quigley move to the final with a win against Cootamundra CC team M Barber, D Harris, B Lang and R Rosengreen. Another team from Young L Porrett, G Debritt, B Madden and R Boyd came a close second to D McAlister, B McAlister G Edgerton and Bevan McAlister who the moved to the final. D Quigley’s team recorded a 25-13 win to claim the title.

The senior fours semi-final was between two Cootamundra Ex teams with P Cockram, D O’Neill, G Fisher and B New playing a thriller to K Roberts, G Bushell, J White and J Deacon having to play an extra end after the score was 21-all on end 21, but J Deacon’s side recorded one shot in the extra end to move into the final. Young’s Traynor’s team also progressed to the final. The final was a one-sided affair with team Deacon claiming the district title.
President reserve fours saw three teams enter with Coota CC and two Coota Ex teams. Exies’ team of N Blackett, S Stanton, S Leggett and W Watmore received a bye to the final leaving J O’Loughlin, C Willis, E Thorburn and G Worboys playing J Jones, G Manwaring, T Smith and P O’Brien for the remaining final spot. Exies’ O’Brien team scraped home 14-12 in a great game of bowls. The final was a close encounter with Team O’Brien continuing the good form to claim the title 22-16.
Maestro Singles: Mick Barber is through to the semi-final with a win over Bill Robertson. At one stage Bill had a seven shot lead but Mick then kept Bill scoreless for a marvellous 31-26 win.
