Cootamundra Public School is a proud public school dedicated to providing an environment where learning, responsibility and respect are promoted each and every day.
The school ethos ‘Yindyamarra Yumbuwan’ (Wiradjuri for Respect everything – going slow, taking care) underpins our approach to supporting the whole child.
Embedded within the school is a culture of continuous improvement. Students are challenged to take risks with their learning, with staff deeply invested in providing differentiated learning experiences that encourage positive learning habits and a growth mindset.
Cootamundra Public School also encourages involvement in a diverse range of learning opportunities – from choir to garden club, sporting representation, leadership in SRC and Kids Teaching Kids programs.
The offerings of extra-curricular activities will continue to grow this year with the introduction of a strings group, thanks to the expertise of local musician, Katie Spicer.
The dedicated team work in close partnership with the school community and the school P&C, who work tirelessly to support the students.
Over the years, their fundraising through raffles and major events such as the annual fete, have enabled the P&C to contribute to playground and classroom upgrades including air conditioning and playground shade.
