A seat in memory of Pat Caskie will be placed on the Casuarina Walk and it was decided to plant this tree nearby. Even without flowers it will be an attractive native addition, with its large apple green leaves followed by the spring flowering.
Our February working bee was enhanced by the presence of the Cootamundra Randall children, who did a wonderful job picking up in excess of 117 pieces of rubbish from near and in the creek. Wonderful to have young people developing an interest in the Muttama Creek.
Our next meeting will be on April 1 (meetings are first Monday in the month at 5pm in the Stephen Ward rooms at the library). We appreciate any help that the community may be prepared to give, as work done over the years has certainly benefited the beautification and water health of the creek. We are a small group but one with a passion for what we are doing and a few extra pairs of hands would be most welcome.
