With pennant play taking a big part in the district`s bowling calendar at the moment, it is pleasing for me to report very favourably with regard to our club`s performance last Sunday.

Grade 4
The Grade 4 side played Young Bowling Club at Young and recorded a 10-nil victory.
D. Manwaring, G. Davidson, R.Smith and R. Rosengreen defeated C. Traynor`s team (32-12); K. Medcalf, G. Worboys, D. Harris and M. Barber defeated V. Brown`s team (17-14); R. Crowe, W. Manwaring, R. Anderson and B. Lange defeated G. Hardman`s team (20-13).
Grade 6
Our Grade 6 side travelled to Boorowa and played a Boorowa Ex-Services side and also recorded a 10- nil victory.
E. Jarrott, J.O`Loughlin, P. Rasmussen and J. Malone defeated N. Purtell`s team (28-16); D. O`Brien, S. Wilkinson, D. Guthrie and R. Cleveland defeated D. Armour's team (24-14); A.Ward, C.Willis, A.E.Ward and E. Thorburn defeated W. Luxford`s team (28-11).
Tuesday a Major Club Pairs game was played and R. Smith and G. Davidson proved far too strong for D. O`Brien and E. Thorburn, only allowing them to score on two ends.
I believe Richard had a blinder of a game to help secure this result .
Social play saw two equal point scores of 17.5 points arise and the count back gave G. Bottrall and B. Lange the meat trays for the day as they had a nine-shot win over S. Wilkinson and C. Jordan. In the other game G. Hagan and P. Cockram came up with a four-shot margin over A.Ward and K. Medcalf.

LADIES
Some much-needed rain caused the cancellation of Cootamundra Ex-Services President’s Day after only two ends had been played.
However, our team still enjoyed their day.
For social play last week, we had one game of pairs and one of triples with Jenny Blundell as the swinging lead.
In the pairs, Diana Buchanan and Viv Christie won a close match against Jan Roberts and Jan Slavin.
The triples match was also close with Betty Cleveland, Marsha Phillips and Jenny Blundell winning from Ellenor Armstrong, Neta Manwaring (and Jenny).
