In pennant, the club's grade 4 and 6 teams had home games. Grade 4 had a 5.5 to 4.5 win over Boorowa Ex, with the aggregate score being 55-all and Cootamundra Ex recording two wins and a draw. MAJOR SINGLES
There was a great first round game between Craig Jordan and Jason. Jason compiled a handy 15-shot lead and was travelling nicely until Craig lifted. Jason fell into a lull, allowing Craig to reduce the lead. But in the final stages of the game, Jason regain his momentum and went on to win 31-27.
Grade 6 continued its great form with an aggregate score 77-51.
SOCIAL BOWLS
Wednesday 6/3 social was cancelled due to inclement weather. Friday 8/3 social bowls featured 18 bowlers playing three games of triples. R. Goode, J. Huntington and P. Hoang won a close game 22-17, their opponents being Henry, A. Small and The Duck. In another close encounter, R. Hillier, Bloopy, and K. Hampton collected the chops with a good 23-17 win over Rocky, Mario and Pickles, while O. Lopez, P. Cockram and J. Cook were always in control in their game against Frosty Winter, G. Snape and G. Hillier.
LADIES
Inclement weather limited action at the Cootamundra Ex-Services Ladies President's Day.
As luck would have it, rain cut the day's play short after only three ends.
The ladies adjourned to the club for coffee, cake and wine. There was lots of chattering. Winners for the day were drawn from a hat, with the Yass ladies collecting first place and Grenfell taking second.
The three spider prizes went to Helen (Yass) closest to the president’s bowl, Joan (Harden) closest to the South West president’s bowl and Jan (Coota CC) closest to the spider.
Resting touchers lead Margaret (Coota EX), second Lorraine (SWD) and skip Yvonne (Boorowa Ex). This was achieved in only three ends.
