Alan was down 14-22 after 22 ends but fought back to win 10 of the last 14 ends.
Nigel Buttress had a 31-21 win against Adam New in a game that was close early until Nigel collected the mat and rolled long ends to secure the win.
PENNANTS
Grade 4 third round saw Cootamundra Ex-Services outplayed by Cootamundra Country Club going down 1-9.
Grade 6 travelled to Binalong for its third round against Binalong where they also lost 1-9.
SOCIAL BOWLS
Wednesday: Rocky, Graeme Snape and Jim White got the sausages with a 20-18 win after being down 5-17 early. Jason Jones, Jeff Cook and Pickles were four shot 23-19 winners against Keith Hampton, Alan Small and Pat O'Brien. Oscar Lopez and Peter Hoang 21-16 winners against Steve Stanton and Rob Hillier.
Friday: Rob Hillier, Wally Chater and Pickles 24-19 winner over John Huntington, The Duck and Craig Jordan. Oscar Lopez, Graeme Snape, Pat O'Brien were dominant in the win over Mick Andrews, Tony Curtis and Geoff Hillier.
Women's Bowls
SOUTH WEST DISTRICT TRIPLES
Marilyn Allen, Lorraine Evelyn and Lyn Fisher travelled to Harden for the start of their triples campaign, which ended in a first-round defeat to a very good team from Young. Welcome back to Freda Hambrooke.
SOCIAL BOWLS
Wednesday: seven ladies combined to play a fours game with Bev Black a swinging lead.
The other players were Sara Lopez Margaret Cosgrove and Carolyn Buchanan who try as they may couldn't overhaul winners Freda Hambrook, Lee Bristow and Lynn Fisher who went on to win 11-7. Saturday Sara Lopez and Joan Cummins were in complete control of their game, winning against Margaret Cosgrove and Robyn Snape.
