The dinner will be held on Saturday May 11 at the Ex-Services Club, with tickets now on sale available from Hunt and McTavish accountants in Parker St.

Mr Herzog is well known to many Cootamundra residents after his guest appearance with Dawn Fraser at the Cootamundra Swim Meet in February.

At the Meet, he good-humouredly participated in a raffle race over 50m against 11-year-old Archie Blackman, giving him a 12-second start.

The Foundation has received an excellent list of nominations for the awards, as 2018 continued to demonstrate the depth of talent of junior and senior athletes living in the town and district.

Nominations for individual awards come from a variety of sports and include many talented athletes in rugby league, league tag, soccer, athletics, AFL, cricket, swimming, rodeo, karate and basketball at both junior and senior level.

It was a great year for members of the senior and junior rugby league clubs, with Zac Rumble, Renae Glanville and Kristen Byrne having stellar seasons and the Cootamundra Bullpups having five teams in grand finals and completing the season with three premierships.

Junior soccer stars Anisa Rees and sisters Frankie and Piper Scott all achieved at a high level and Samantha Graham continued her good form on the basketball court.

Brother and sister Lachlan and Michaela Webb and Koby Godbier shone in a number of sports and along with Luke Dowell (karate) and Montanna Wilkinson (rodeo) they achieved at a very high level in 2018.

Jimmy Finucane won two major awards for his efforts on the field for the Coota Blues in the Canberra competition in a stand-out performance.

Many talented juniors compete in a variety of sports and all have impressive performances in 2018 and will also come into contention for the Frank Smith Memorial Trophy.

Rugby league, rugby union and cricket feature in the junior and senior team awards with the Coota Bears under 12's rugby team winning another SIRU premiership in 2018 to continue a fine record for this talented group of players.

The Stribley Shield came back to Cootamundra after the representative cricket team defeated Wagga in the final.

Administrators will also be recognised for their work behind the scenes for their clubs and the Max Rudd Memorial Trophy for Service to Sport will also be presented.
