Cameron was a leading light in the Lions' one-point win at the Gabba, a victory which lifted them above his old team and into fourth on the AFL ladder.

After his first season with the Lions was cut short by a foot injury last year, Saturday's clash was the first time Cameron had faced his former club since leaving in 2017.

The 24-year-old had clearly been waiting for the chance to face the Crows.

"I remember some comments from my exit review with Don Pyke and a few other coaches that really stuck out," Cameron said.

"I remember those comments, I don't want to say it here, but I remember what they said and it drives me to prove them wrong."

Cameron revealed he was nervous before Saturday's match, especially after a disappointing game the weekend before against the Western Bulldogs in Ballarat.

While he was pleased with his effort against the Crows, he also felt he could have delivered more after scoring 3.5 from eight shots.

Overall Cameron has 15 goals and 18 behinds this season after starting the year with a 7.2 return in the first two rounds.

The livewire small forward admits his goalkicking is an area he needs to address.

"I had eight shots but I could've had a few more goals if just had a bit of focus on my goalkicking," Cameron said of the Crows game.

"When I'm in front of goals I think too much. A few of the boys keep telling me to take my 30 (seconds) but I don't really like taking my 30 because I'll think about it too much.

"It's quite frustrating but I'm trying to work my butt off to correct it."
