This was a decrease of about 1400 on the previous sale, however the very good quality of stock yarded at Cootamundra Saleyards, continued. The market consisted of 2084 lambs, 440 ewes, and 168 hoggets.
The solid trend of last sale continued, with heavy lambs (25kg and above) leading the charge to be $35 to $40 better than last sale.
Trade lambs (19 to 24kg CW) held onto, the extreme prices of the previous sale.
Top lamb price for the day went to Ashley Hermes of Bethungra with an outstanding pen of heavy weigh XB lambs making $261. With an estimated CW of 28kg and wearing a $7 coat, they came back at $9.05kg CW and went to Australian Lamb Company.
Most three to four score trade lambs in the 19 to 24kg CW, made between $8.50 to $9kg CW and some sales up to $9.40kg CW.
The light trade weight bag lambs (14 to 18kg CW) were up to $9.60kg CW
The heavier lambs (26kg plus) were in the $8.50 to $9.05 bracket to be $1.20 to $1.30kg CW better on last sale. Next sale is on Wednesday, June 12 at 8.30am.
