George's funeral will be held Friday, June 14 at the Uniting Church, Cooper Street, commencing at 1.30pm. Please wear club uniform if you are attending.
Past bowlers pairs
The inaugural past bowlers single entry pairs were held on Sunday, June 9, with 28 bowlers playing three bowl pairs consisting of three 15 end games and judging by the laughter, banter and sledging coming from all over the green this will become an annual event. Winners on the day were Neil Blackett and Jeff Cook with 3 wins +34. Just two shots away in second place were Wayne (Rocky) Ford and Terry Smith, with 3 wins +32. Spider also went to Jeff Cook topping off a great day.
Social bowls
Wednesday, June 5: Paul Cockram, Steve Leggett and Peter Hoang couldn't keep up with their opponents Rob Hillier, Jim White and Geoff Hillier going down 22-13. Oscar Lopez, Kim (Frog) Roberts and Pat O'Brien six shot winners defeating Jeff Withers, Craig Jordan and Graeme Dennis 24-18, while John Huntington and Keith Hampton combined to defeat Wayne (Rocky) Ford and Don (Duck) O'Neill 15-12.
Friday, June 7: John Huntington, Rocky Ford and Paul Cockram proved too strong for Mick Andrews, Graeme Snape and Keith Hampton, defeating them 23-11. Jeff Withers, Don O'Neill and Jim White combined to defeat Oscar Lopez, Geoff Hillier and Graeme Dennis 21-12, while Ginger O'Brien and Rob Hillier were too strong for Terry Cosgrove and Pat O'Brien winning 21-14.

Wednesday, June 5 there was one game of fours, with Margaret Cosgrove playing a double lead. Margaret, Lynn Fisher, Lorraine Evelyn and Freda Hambrook narrowly defeated Margaret, Bev Black, Joan Cummins and Carolyn Buchanan in low scoring game 13-11.

COUNTRY CLUB WOMEN'S BOWLS
Bowlers enjoyed much better weather for last Thursday's social bowls. With nine bowlers available, one game of triples with a swinging lead, and one game of pairs was played.
Jan Slavin, Jenny Blundell and Lesley Manwaring (swinging lead) won by a single point against Jan Roberts, Viv Christie and Lesley. In the pairs, Diana Buchanan and Marsha Phillips were too strong for Neta Manwaring and Betty Cleveland.
Tomorrow's social bowls is Queen of the Green singles practice, followed by our usual lunch together, and then our monthly meeting.
