A number of championship games to report again this week starting with a Major Pairs game that began with Tony Ward and Graeme Worboys establishing a lead up until the end 14 over Pete Rasmussen and Kevin Breasley, who upped the ante at that point and went on to score a 20-17 victory.

In the Minor Pairs Division, strangely enough, it was a similar result for John O`Loughlin and Charlie Willis, who were ahead up until end 14 in their game against Kevin Medcalf and Adam Hutchinson, who then went on from there to score a 28-17 win.
In the Club Major Singles, David Harris and Bill Manwaring played a 36-end marathon, with David holding a slender lead right up until end 35 where Bill scored 4 shots to level at 29-29. However, on the next end David scored the 2 shots needed for victory.
A second Major Singles game was played between Kevin Breasley and Ron Rosengreen. Ron got out of the blocks early and maintained that lead to finish with a 31-22 final score.
SOCIAL
Social play in a Triples game saw G Hagan, E Thorburn, and P Rasmussen with a winning score of 23-15 over W Ledger, K Ryan and Tony Ward.
Tuesday's social games of pairs saw some big scores on single ends - even 7 on one end for Kevin and Ashley. Finally, A Ward and J. Malone managed to hang in there and get a 17.5 point score against A Cooper and K Medcalf.
However, the winning team for meat trays was C Miller and S Wilkinson and they scored 20 points by defeating G Hagan and C Willis who were in front for the early part of that game. Raffle tray went to A Cooper.
COUNTRY CLUB WOMEN'S BOWLS
For social play last Thursday, bowlers played one game of triples, with Lesley Manwaring as swinging lead, and one of 3-bowl pairs. Jan Roberts, Jenny Blundell and Lesley Manwaring won against Diana Buchanan, Betty Cleveland (and Lesley).
After a close tussle, Viv Christie and Jan Slavin had a 1-point win over Marsha Phillips and Neta Manwaring in the pairs.
The ladies enjoyed a full day on Thursday, with Queen of the Green singles social play, followed by lunch together, after which the AGM was held.
